Outcome Doc 121 What did K Davey Do?
Its understood that he telephoned Dave Matthews the FBU national officer responsible for the unions Heath & Safety business at the time. His response was to tell Sub/O Davey to ask DO Hodge to put his request into writing.
When Sub/O Davey returned to DO Hodge and repeated the advice given to him by a FBU national officer he put himself into reverse gear with a grinding crunch and terminated the interview. He refused to put his request into writing and insisted that Sub/O Davey had completely mis-interpreted their meeting as a formal interview and it was completely off the record and an aside to the investigation.
