Reappointment of Training Instructors

You will be aware, of course, of the recent discussions between the Operations Command, representatives of the Fire Brigades Union and the Training Instructors regarding planned changes to some of the working arrangements within the training Department. This consultation process appears to have broken down at the last stage, in that the F.B.U. appear to have been reluctant to give written agreement to the proposals. In the opinion of the Operations Commander, however, all matters raised by those concerned have been responded to appropriately. Consequently, I have been asked to offer you a revised appointment without further delay.

Accordingly, please find enclosed two copies of the new statement of the main terms and conditions applying to your appointment. Your attention is particularly drawn to the information about the Training instructor’s allowance set out in the ’Pay’ section, and to the section regarding hours of work.

Please sign and return to me the second copy of the revised statement by 18th November, 1998 as confirmation of your understanding and acceptance of its contents. If, however, you have any queries regarding these arrangements please do not hesitate to contact me.
