Wiggy was granted leave and Brigade transport to travel to meet with Steve Brinkley at Ipswich on 14th August 1998. They met in the FBU office at the back of the tower Colchester road Fire Station Ipswich. At that time Steve Brinkley was a FBU Region 10 (now 9) official. The issue for discussion and action was the situation arising from Divisional Officer Colin Hodge’s behaviour on 7th August 1998.
A formal complaint had been sent to Steve Brinkley 10th August 1998 (see Doc 193).
A detailed discussion took place. Steve Brinkley said that he would report the matter to the regional committee and recommend appropriate action should be taken. i.e. the institution of an investigation against the FBU members Colin Hodge and Paul Hayden.
As of 16th September 2005 X has not received any report or notification of the outcome of his complaint to Steve Brinkley. It is unknown if the matter was ever reported to the FBU Region 10 (now 9).
Perhaps the investigation is pending?
