1210 I rang ACFO from Normanshurst to confirm I had arrived. I also said that I intended opening the letter myself, with the ACFO’s agreement, and handing him the three Reg 7 copies as this was the only way I could be sure he would have had a look at them, rather than just the sealed envelope. This was agreed.

Comparison of page chronology shows it as fact that DO Hodge is writing up his notes way past events and as a reaction later events.

As for the following comment from Doc 184………. ACFO Seager – He asked me to ring him from Lowestoft as soon as I arrived so that he could notify the FBU H/Office by FAX that two union officials were under investigation.

Now that is interesting. Sometime later Suffolk Fire Service and their agents would argue that X was not a trade union official and not entitled to the extra statutory protection in the workplace arising from a trade union role.

Even more interesting is the fact that there is absolutely no record or recollection of the events written up in DO Colin Hodge’s notebook.

Now that is what we call fantasy island talk!
